Truckee Art Haus

Great things are happening in Truckee. For those of you who are unfamiliar with this California town, it is an adventure-lover’s paradise nestled in the Sierra Nevada Mountain range just Northwest of Lake Tahoe. Truckee has a rich history and an equally rich culture, known for its proximity to ski areas and mountain bike trails.

We are especially excited about Truckee because we are part of a new development taking place in town. Truckee Art Haus, the brainchild of Melissa and Steven Siig, will be a 3 screen cinema showing both blockbuster and independent films as well as community productions and music shows. Like their successful Tahoe Art Haus in Tahoe City, it will cater to the local community and will feature local microbrews and tasty snacks.

Last week, DA+ shared the spotlight with Melissa and Siig at a town meeting hosted by Alibi Ale Works at their Truckee Public House. The team presented the story behind the project and showed rendered images to describe the ideas behind the design. A lively question and answer discussion followed, raising important concerns as well as praise for the project and its contribution to the town.
